I accidentally got these in when trying to get in more Parotocinclus from Peru. They get a bit large at adult size for my fish room, at 7.5″. My mistake is your gain! Right now they are about 1.25″, and extremely cute but they are going to get bigger, probably quickly. They are an omnivorious pleco, whose color will change as they age. Here is a link to a planetcatfish profile which shows their adult coloration and gives more information. They can tolerate temperatures from 74-85, are easy to feed, and have a mild temperament. As plecos that get larger, good filtration, plenty of oxygenation, and a decent-sized tank (over 3′) will be needed. I don’t have much anecdotal information to add yet, but they will be available at a very reasonable price for a fish that is rarely seen for sale.
