Sale prolonged through the new year, and some shrimp shots

Since the weather took such a nasty turn, and I have not been able to ship, I am prolonging my Holiday incentives ($5 off, $10 off shipping) through the first week of January. This will include my tote and gift certificate give away. I cannot ship until the daytime temperatures are above freezing, and it is supposed to warm up a bit soon. I will be absolutely taking the week before Christmas off from shipping, as there is just too much in the...

Weekly update- A note about shipping- AND taking the weekend OFF!

Hey guys! I am taking this weekend off to celebrate my 10th wedding anniversary with my husband. I will be checking in, but will not be doing shipping estimates until early next week 🙂 A note about shipping, as well, Ground/Home delivery service is now at your own risk and I would really prefer if next day Express service is chosen for fish, which is what my live arrival guarantee will cover. Because of the rampant discrepency of daytime...

Home, sweet home- time for some more pictures!

Home, sweet home- time for some more pictures!

I got home on Sunday from visiting CT where I attended the NEC Convention. On my way home, I stopped and picked up more otocinclus and habrosus from the airport. I found several new things which spawned while I was away, and while trying to take pictures (unsuccessfully) of fry, I shot a few of different fish in the fish room to share. I still have a few species left to photograph and will be creating or updating...

Rili shrimp-One of the newer trends in Neocaridina breeding

Rili shrimp-One of the newer trends in Neocaridina breeding

Shrimp breeders once culled any Neocaridina shrimp that had imperfections in their color in order to strengthen the opacity and make brighter and brighter lines. The trend for the past year or two has changed, and breeders are now exploiting the imperfections to make them appear banded, much like their cousin the Crystal Red. The goal is transparency/clarity of body with various colored blotches or bands. Most commonly found right now are the...
