A busy summer so far! Up next- Bucks County Workshop!
I feel like I have been all over the place this summer, and it has just begun! I just returned home from visiting the Cleveland Aquarium Society in Ohio, where I had a great time! The best part was how interested some of the children of members were. I even received a lovely picture from one of the younger members, Cassandra, that I will scan and add later.
While there, I visited a brew pub (score!) and also got to visit a store, Something Fishy, Inc owned by David Hale. This store is epic! With over 400 tanks, 3600sqf, and over 20,000 gallons total- it should be a must hit for any serious fish enthusiest! The major focus is cichlids, but David also has tons of displays, hard scape, foods, supplies, and community fish available. It is room after room of spotless tanks full of healthy fish. He is rearing many of his own fish, and the quality shows.
Next up is the Bucks County Aquarium Society Workshop on June 23. I am going just to see the speakers and to socialize, but it is an event not to be missed! There are three heavy hitter speakers which will be giving largely new presentations. The three speakers are Rosario LaCorte (breeding tetras), Frank Falcone (fancy guppies), and Ian Fuller (Corydoradinae catfish). There will be a fish/invertebrate/plant sale, and a dinner. More information and registration documents can be gotten by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. It should be a fantastic day and I hope to see some of you there.
